CCD Schedule Policies & Procedures

Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD)
Grades K - 4 meet the second Sunday of the month and 5th - 12th grades meet on the third Sunday.
Confirmation class also meets the second Sunday of the month.
When Jesus commissioned the Apostles to go ... and make disciples of all nations... (Mt 28: 1 9) He entrusted each of us with both the privileges and responsibilities of bringing the word of God to those we encounter in our lives. Parents, first and foremost, begin this important task when they bring their child forward to receive the Sacrament of Baptism. They are their child's first teacher, nurturing faith within their homes, a place so special it is often referred as the "domestic church."
Mater Ecclesiae parish recognizes and shares in this important work by providing a formal program of religious education and sacrament preparation to support parents and their children. Our home study program begins with monthly class instruction combined with parental instruction at home at the age of five or six, with two years of preparation preceding the reception of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and First Holy Communion. Confirmation preparation is offered to all children entering 6th, 7th and 8th grade who have had four years of formal religious education.
Grades K - 4 meet the second Sunday of the month and 5th - 12th grades will meet on the third Sunday. Each family must fill out a family registration form as well as student registration. Any student seeking Confirmation preparation during the 06/07 school year must fill out the Confirmation Application and return it to the Religious Education office by the July 31 , 2006 deadline. While this seems like a lot of paper work it will make the registration process easier in the future. You will also notice a change in registration fees, mail your registration in early to take advantage of the reduced fee!
It is always a great pleasure for me to work with the families of Mater Ecclesiae's Religious Education program. Please feel free to call the church office to speak to me at any time during the year if you have any comments, concerns or suggestions. I pray that God will bless you richly as you continue his good work.
In Christ,
Mary Spooner
